Dark Fruit
Wiki
When to Eat?
Eat Dark at mid-level, preferably around Second Sea, between levels 700-900. If you need a simple and straightforward fruit for PvP, especially combos with swords or pistols, etc., then...
Don't eat it early in the game, for example, in First Sea. The problem is that Dark is frankly weak without leveling your skills to 100+ Mastery.
It's better to use Dark for Second Sea or Third Sea, and if you've already leveled your skills and Mastery.
Otherwise, this fruit won't work for you at all.

Special Features
Dark has the ability to not take damage from all physical attacks.
Black Holes are your best friend when playing Dark, as they can attract your enemies and stun them for a few seconds, allowing you to run in and strike, or even dodge an attack or fight.
On a positive note, Ghastly Step (V) functions as a teleport, helping you quickly reach your target while significantly improving your mobility.
Dark is good against slower fruits on the ground, mostly due to Black Holes. It performs poorly against very mobile and fast enemies, as well as in the air against flying fruits.
It can be quite effective against the T-Rex due to its attachment to the ground and its ground-based attacks in general. Black Hole pulls the dinosaur's jumps back to the ground, holding it in place.
A crushing defeat is expected against the Tiger. Tiger is simply very fast and can attack before Black Hole can trigger (it has a long cooldown). For example of course. All of Dark's other attacks will be quite weak against Tiger for various reasons.

Dark: Strength Guide
Player vs Player: 5/10 - Some advantage for you in the power of Dark in PvP is achieved through a long stun and teleportation.
Grinding: 3/10 - Bad for grinding (because long cooldowns) on most moves, small hitboxes, low damage.
Area of Effect: 4/10 - Small hitboxes and stun. Dark Abyss (C, after awakening) is good for fighting multiple enemies and close combat. Dark Stones (Z) is a great performer against crowds of enemies.
Attack: 4/10 - Decent attack and combo potential (appr 5000+), better when awakened. Some issues with low damage output.
Damage: 4/10 - Low damage. Awakened Dark - much better.
Defense: 6/10 - In general, it's considered a rather weak fruit in its unawakened state/mode. Use it if its awakened.
Knockback: 6/10 - Darkness has decent knockback properties. Unawakened X (Black Spiral) and V (Dark Bomb) provide decent knockback.
Cooldown: 3/10 - Unawakened Darkness has a long cooldown.
Range: 6/10 - Awakened Dark - much better.
Mobility: 4/10 - Dark Veil (V) is much better for combos.
Combo potential: 5/10 - Good combo potential (5000+)
On the Seas: 6/10 - Don't forget about the teleportation ability when using it at sea.
